AI-Assisted Backtesting Stack
Education about software tools only. Not investment advice. TraderStacks does not recommend any security, coin, contract, strategy or trade. Prices were checked on the date shown and may change. Past or backtested results never guarantee future results.
Who it's for: traders who can describe a rule-based idea in plain English and want to test it properly, with AI writing the code and a real engine running the test.

Workflow
- Write the rules in plain English: entry, exit, stop, position size, market, timeframe, costs.
- Have the AI translate them into Pine Script or Python. The AI writes the code; it does not invent the strategy.
- Run the test in a deterministic engine, never "in the chat".
- Ask a second model to review the code for look-ahead bias and logic errors.
- Validate: out-of-sample data, walk-forward analysis, costs and slippage, parameter sensitivity.
- Paper-trade before risking money.
Common mistakes
- Letting the AI "optimize" until the curve looks great (overfitting).
- Ignoring fees, slippage and spreads.
- Using data with survivorship bias.
The full prompts and checklists are in the AI Backtesting Setup Pack ($19).
